Description of Duties: |
Under limited supervision, analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate business processes, upgrade or modify existing systems and review system-wide capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Job duties include but are not limited to supervising and planning work of assigned staff; analyzing cost effectiveness of automating business processes and modification of existing systems; analyzing science, engineering, business, and all other data processing problems to determine feasibility and cost effectiveness of technology solutions; coordinating and linking the computer and telecommunications systems within an organization to increase interoperability; developing and maintaining test standards relevant to the development life cycle, changing management processes and ensuring staff meets those standards; developing detailed communication plans to support the introduction of newly developed network products and services; directing, developing, communicating, and monitoring quality assurance and testing project work plans and schedules for the application software development; expanding or modifying systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow; integrating hardware, software applications, and network communications to develop optimal solutions for business requirements testing, maintaining, and monitoring computer programs and systems, including the coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related field and two years of programming/supervisory experience OR Associates Degree or equivalent two year technical certificate from an accredited program and six years of programming experience with at least two years in a supervisory position OR One year of experience as a State of Georgia Systems Analyst 1. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, four or more years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Knowledge of full application life cycle design tools and methodologies, e.g., Agile, Scrum, Rational
• Experience working with customers and technical staff to gather requirements, document business cases, define scope & objectives to design systems that meet the overall business need.
• Development experience using one or more of the following: C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Visual Basic , SQL Analysis Services, Integration Services
• Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following technology areas is preferred: Silverlight, MVC, .NET framework, WCF RIA Services, SQL Server Reporting Services
• Advanced knowledge in relational databases especially for SQL Server and Oracle
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools and/or technologies
• Hands-on experience in data warehouse applications and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
• Experience in quality assurance processes (i.e. test plans, test cases, and test execution (unit, system, performance, acceptance)
• Strong communication, presentation and meeting skills
• Experience with MS Visio and Project
• Leadership experience |
Salary/Benefits: |
Pay Grade 19 – Annual salary range $52,172.55 (minimum) to $91,137.94 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement. |
