Program/Unit: State Schools/Office of Policy and External Affairs
Description of Duties: Under close supervision, performs routine maintenance of building, facilities, and grounds to provide an acceptable, safe, serviceable, clean, and attractive facility. Duties including but are not limited to assisting contractors or skilled trades workers with major repairs or renovations, building and maintaining facility signs, maintaining and stocking equipment and supplies as needed, maintaining grounds, parking, and storage areas managing the security access system for the facility and all modifications on a day-to-day basis monitoring condition of facilities, moving furniture, operating hand tools and power cleaning equipment, operating hand tools and power cleaning equipment, performing routine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, performing routine repairs, preventative maintenance and inspection of the facilities or buildings.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • High school graduate with valid driver’s license • Experience and/or training in building maintenance or related area • Ability to lift heavy objects
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade 6 - Annual salary range $15,762.46 (minimum) to $25,174.60 (maximum). Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers Retirement.
