Description of Duties: Under limited supervision, provides a broad array of leadership, guidance and support services to the Title IV, Part B, 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) programs located within the assigned region. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, administering the 21st CCLC program in accordance with federal regulations, policies, guidance, and instruction, as well as with state and State Board of Education policy; monitoring progress and applying monitoring standards for the assigned 21st CCLC programs; designing and providing technical assistance to current and potential subgrantees and/or community groups in program planning, implementation, and effectiveness; assisting the state program manager in collecting, summarizing, and analyzing progress data related to implementation and effectiveness of the local programs; recommending changes and improvements to the local programs; approving local program application amendments; electronically preparing accurate reports; memoranda; guidelines or other documents related to areas of responsibility that communicate clearly and adequately; conducting thorough program investigations, as warranted, including follow-up to state audits; planning and organizing meetings and conferences for existing and future 21st CCLC programs; and serving on state program teams, as assigned. This position involves extensive travel within assigned geographic region and occasional statewide travel. Work schedule typically encompasses before and after-school hours, in addition to the regular work day. Regional assignment requires on-going collaboration with the Georgia Department of Education 21st CCLC Budget Analyst 2 assigned to same set of subgrantee programs.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in education, education administration or a related field and a minimum of three years of professional level education experience in a role that includes implementing and/or overseeing educational services for at-risk student populations at the local, district or state level(s). Must be knowledgeable about best practices and current research related to the successful implementation of educational support services for at-risk student populations.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Georgia professional educator certification • Teaching and/or administrative experience in a public school or system setting • Excellent organizational skills • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with school personnel, staff, students, and other support agencies or organizations • Demonstrated competencies in self-motivation/initiative and leadership • Successful experience promoting and implementing positive organizational change
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade 17 – Annual salary range $43,063.23 (minimum) to $75,523.31 (maximum) commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience, and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
